It's frustrating when a penchant for talking about the music you enjoy leads others to brand you as "insecure," or "trying too hard."
I am many things, but "insecure" is definitely not one of them. Why is it when a woman writes about how much she loves (insert random black metal band here) she's automatically met with derision, but when a man does the same thing, it's all "yeah man" and no big deal?
I love Wormphlegm, Loretta Lynn, Amebix, Nirvana, Thou, Tormentor, and Bestial Warlust. Come at me, bro.

Eh, fuck 'em. They're full of shit.
My response, in meme-esque format: http://thecreepout.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/haters-gonna-hate.gif
Just remember that the people doing the labeling are probably fans of [insert shitty band here].
I agree entirely. Apparently I rub people the wrong way because I'm perceived as trying too hard to 'out-kvlt' them. In reality, I'm a dork who likes to blather on and on about the bands I'm listening to, and no competition is intended.
@Anonymous:
Seriously. Shit's weak.
THOU KIX FUCKING ASS.... IF ONLY LOS ANGELES CHICKS WERE MORE INTO METAL LIKE YOU HAHA I CAN'T STAND THE DIRTY OVERWEIGHT PUNKER CHIX OVER HERE... AT LEAST THE HOT DEATH METAL CHIX TAKE CARE OF THEIR CONCEITED ASSES HAHA =P HORNS UP!!!!
Don't let that bother you Grim one. You cannot please everyone so why bother trying. Folks like us have been bold enough to make our views available for the public eye and while we establish respective fan bases we also gain those who choose to derail or toss negativity into the mix.
I've gotten the "oh you think you know everything" after being asked an opinion which makes me laugh and some of my closest friends continually ask me what is going on with that "Pierce something or other website that I have". Sigh. It only makes me work harder and more focused on those who enjoy what I put on the table.
Keep being awesome and I hope to see you around again soon.

Sorry I didn't mention video games. DYA. I'll try harder to try hard next time, and hopefully a random newspaper will pay me to publish that random blog post, too! <3
Only a fool wouldn't dig Loretta Lynn - she's kvlt as fuck. Keep rocking, Kim.
